About
Alexandria
Alexandria is a Wiccan High Priestess in the Dianic tradition. She
attended her first ritual at Beltane in 1989 and describes the experience
as “coming home.” The following year she was initiated
as a priestess, and began exploring the interrelationships of Wicca
with her previous spiritual adventures in metaphysical and new age
thinking. In the mid 1990’s, Alexandria began studying to
become a High Priestess and was granted that status in December
1996. She was hived out of her home coven in Dallas soon after and
started her own coven in the Houston area. It was then that she
discovered the greater community that existed; for her original
teachers were, and continue to be, very much in the broom closet.
After her first students moved away early in their training, Alexandria did not actively seek out any more and instead focused on teaching through her writing, workshops, and seminars. She began teaching classes on empathy and tarot for small groups gradually finding more and more people and places open to her ideas. When Wiccan Feng Shui was published in March 2002, Alexandria’s classes expanded to include this subject and she began doing in-home consultations.
Alexandria’s next book, Life’s Little Rituals was released in August 2004 and her repertoire of classes expanded yet again with a class on creating personal rituals. In October 2004, she introduced the Star Runes, a unique divination and meditation tool filled with symbols that came to Alexandria through a series of dreams. Once again, a class was added to better understand these symbols. For a complete list of seminars and workshops, click here.
On a more personal note, Alexandria is very happily married to the
love of her life, Stephen. Also a professional writer, albeit on
the technical side of the fence, Stephen is Alexandria’s most
staunch supporter and first editor. Their scrabble games are a sight
to behold when the cats, Nicky and Talia, can be kept away from
the tiles.
Alexandria’s plans for the future are to keep writing. She
looks forward to the day her science fiction and fantasy stories
get published in addition to her non-fiction.
About
Wicca
There are many different traditions in Wicca, but most of them have
a few things in common. Wicca is a nature-based religion. We celebrate
the complete circle, the wheel of life that is the natural world.
The phases of the moon and the turning of the seasons are cause
for celebration and revelry. We try to live our lives in harmony
with the natural forces around us. For example: the season of growth
(Spring) is a time to bring new ideas and activities into our lives.
There is a balance in male and female, it takes both to create life,
so Wicca honors deity in both forms: God and Goddess. We celebrate
solstices and equinoxes, planting and harvest, full and new moons.
We do not actively seek converts nor wish harm on people of other
faiths. There are many websites you can explore if you wish to find
out more. Click here for a few links.
